An indie film success story
Laura Gets a Cat was made for what Hollywood considers "no budget" and screened alongside films with what Hollywood considers a "low budget," but actually could buy a house. Like, a nice house.
Laura Gets a Cat screened at the best independent film festivals in the U.S., including Cinequest, Tallgrass, Cucalorus, Stony Brook, and Naples. It was picked up for distribution by Factory Film Studio and has now been seen by many thousands of viewers.
A Relationship Comedy
Laura, an unemployed writer, has a boyfriend who provides little excitement and two best friends who seem to have achieved all their dreams. Good thing she lives mostly inside her head. After she starts an affair with Ian, a performance artist, real life proves too complicated. She packs up and moves to a small beach town only to find that peace of mind is not necessarily found by chasing it.
